Let us rise up and build…

Nehemiah 2:18b

In Nehemiah’s day, God put it on his heart to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. He left his position of comfort and relative ease to pursue a desire that was God-inspired and God-approved. images (1)

We are all chosen by God to live during this time in history. As a body of believers, we are given a specific mandate by Christ to, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” It is our desire to grow the Kingdom of God by preaching the Good News, changing mindsets and equipping others with the tools to overcome poverty and radically improve their lives.

However, combating poverty and food insecurity demands more than simple charity. While nutritious food provides temporary relief of physical hunger, we must take a holistic approach to combating food insecurity and poverty based on the understanding that God is the source of every good thing. Our goal is to see impoverished communities become self-sustainable and economically viable for future generations.

So, in the words of Nehemiah, let us rise up and build the Kingdom of God!
